On the 16th September 2021, the UAVR team (Portugal) participated in the 11th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education (GEHE 2021). This biennial event took place in a virtual format and have joined practitioners, researchers, teachers and R&I managers from different countries in Europe and beyond. Within this conference, Sara Diogo (UAVR team) presented one talk intitled "Challenges in incorporating the Gender Perspective in Higher Education Teaching and Research: the case of a Portuguese University". About 20 people attended the presentation.

The German Evaluation Society (DeGEval) organised a conference between September 16-17, 2021 to discuss the role of evaluation research in times of societal transformation. Our coordinator Anita Thaler was invited by the board of DeGEval to discuss on September 16th this topic with Sandy Taut (Bayerisches Landesamt für Schule), Udo Kelle (Universität der Bundeswehr, Hamburg) and Ruppert Pichler (Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, Vienna). On the 21st-22nd June, the UAVR team (Portugal) participated in the 4th International Conference on Gender Research (ICGR2021). The event took place in virtual format and was organized by ACPI. Within this conference, Teresa Carvalho and Sara Diogo coordinated the session on gender balance in decision-making processes and bodies. Sara Diogo also presented the paper "Discourses of Men's Leadership in Higher Education and Research Institutions: Exploring the challenges and opportunities for gender equality", which was published in the conference proceedings. Zélia Breda was also involved in the organization of the event, as program chair of the ICGR2021. The next edition of the event will take place at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) on the 28th and 29th of April 2022.

Our CHANGE coordinator Anita Thaler (IFZ Graz, Austria) met and exchanged ideas with 75 women who work in electronics and software industries. Her talk followed the excellent presentations from successful engineers Heike Schwager (Senior Director Automotive Radar Development, Infineon AG), Jennifer Zhao (EVP and GM in Advanced Optical Sensors Division, ams AG) and Sabine Martinjak (Women in Tech Lead, Bulme Graz). The international online event, organised by the Graz Women in Engineering core team, took place on June 23rd 2021, the International Women in Engineering Day to celebrate women in technology jobs, but also to reflect on difficulties in the engineering working environment.
